A tale of tears

All Men are not strong
even though they cause injury
All women are not weak
even though they are taught to submit

There is a story, a learned experience
a habit forms if unchecked
great imagined injury yields silent screams
terror, fear, sorrow, shame

How can one whom you love hurt you
you take the blame for what is not your shame
you imagine a self fault when your attempts to heal fail
and certainly the abuser is meek, ashamed
uncertain as to the reason
but it must be you
especially, if you accept responsibility

The first blow, oh, how painful for each
forgiveness is granted
the second blow is easier to throw
harder to receive
forgiveness returns continues the cycle

The ultimate terror rips your soul
rejection of love
fear of alone
instability of the new
horrify you into inaction

You easily lose respect for yourself
you hate yourself for your fear
and what example of worth have you
if your partner can harm you?
Love, honor and obey

To love another one must find love
in self first
To honor one must respect self and
develop integrity to be able to recognize honorability
To obey one must be able to view from a moral horizon
so judgement of action is able.

Violence is violence regardless of environment
cruelty is oppression is terrorism is
view the actions judge the results
obey the inner voice of reason.

I want you to know I know the environment
I have the fears
I feel the pain
I scream the terror

The injury to the body easily heals
It is the spirit the withers and is shelled in scars
how easily the tears return
our purpose is not to waste our life force
we are not created to suffer
we are here to learn, understand, unite
we have the ability to reason evaluate and act
we are responsible for our own perception
but we are not able to control
the events around us.
